Picture of the Day: 27 - 4 - 11

Hey guys! Enjoying your Easter holidays?
I was at the coast the other day with my family as it was pretty warm! (well, not at the coast, it was so windy! But still, the atmosphere was just laaaavvly!)

I thought I'd choose this as my picture of the day then, just cause I thought it was really beautiful and simple, and I just love the coastal atmosphere whether its a roasting hot summer visit or a cold wet evening :)

Enjoy!

Mini Update

Hey lovelies.
How are you all today? It's another beautiful sunny day in Ireland. Today I've had another day of attempted revision - again I'm failing again !
I also went over to water my neighbour's plants as they're on a mini holiday for Easter... and that's really all so far !

Later this evening I might go for another walk - the walk to my neighbour's was short but lovely, it's got me in the mood for a stroll outside !

Hope you're all enjoying your lovely Spring day,
Here's a little song I haven't stopped listening to all day. It's wonderful :)

Ciao beautifuls!

Switching up my Shampoo

Hi everyone!
Isn't it another lovely sunny day today? It's great, although, it is really hard to get down and do some long revision when it's so lovely outside, so today has been yet another failure at getting my books out (WELL, not fully, I did manage to write some History notes :D)

anyway, the intention of this post is to tell you all about my latest shampoo switch. I just realised that in any of my posts, I never mention the shampoo I use! Even in my favourites or current obsessions - of course it should be in there! Silly me.

Anyway, I'll start by telling you all my hair type and what goes on with my hair (you will be so interested.........ha)

  • It's very oily, so gets greasy very quickly
  • I've always said it's shoulder length, but it has grown a lot recently after getting my bob 2 years ago (I've been growing it out since then!) So actually it almost covers my chest but has lots of short layers
  • I kind of hate my short layers now. They were great to begin with, now they're just annoying...
  • I've also got a full fringe which I've trimmed recently - I was meant to be growing it out too, but fancied cutting it for one day haha
  • My hair is very brittle at the moment; even when I brush it I seem to be pulling out hair. I have a lot of dead ends!
  • aaaand it's a mousy brown colour - never been dyed.
So that is the basics.
Now I will show you my shampoo I have used for so long now - it is definitely my "go-to" shampoo:

It is the Herbal essences Fresh Balance shampoo for normal/oily hair. This shampoo is pretty great I have to say! What I love about it compared to the other amazing Herbal essences shampoos, is it's FRESH smell, rather than over powering fruit smell; it really just makes your hair feel and smell WASHED and CLEAN :) I haven't tried the conditioner actually, maybe I'll give it a go :)

So recently I was in Tescos and needed more shampoo as this one was running low. They didn't have this shampoo (tear tear :'( ) So I had to buy an alternative - hence my shampoo switch!

Soooooo, I bought:

(the shampoo is the one on the right) This is Alberto Balsam's Juicy green apple shampoo for normal/greasy hair. THIS SHAMPOO SMELLS AMAZING. I just want to eat it, or drink it. or SOMETHING! It smells so lovely and juicy appley. I just used it, and it has made my hair smell beautiful and feel very soft and clean. The roots looks very fresh and light and, well, clean!
I think it's a great shampoo so far and I'm so pleased with it! (I've only used it once!) It was £1 compared to Herbal Essences which is around £3 - perfect for those days where I need more shampoo and don't want to spend too much.

This shampoo says on the back, something along the lines of: "it uses the same ingredients as expensive shampoos but at a more affordable price"

Which I think just sums it up wonderfully :)

If any of you have tried any other shampoos from the Alberto Balsam range, or any other shampoos suitable for oily hair, I'd love to hear about it :)

Thanks for reading!

Favourites over the.. em... months!

Hi lovelies,

I'm having a bit of a stay-at-home day. It is 3.30pm and I'm still in my pyjamas with a lovely big unwashed bun on the top of my head. (mmm yummy ha ha). I will be getting a shower later on (DON'T WORRY!) but for now, I'm enjoying a lazy Saturday in my pyjamas.
So I thought I'd do a post on my favourites, and I know people do monthly favourites but seeing as this is my first and it's kinda in the middle of a month, I'll just be doing a favourites of the past few months. Kind of like things I am obsessed with (I think I did a current obsessions post before!)
So here we go . . .

  • Sure Naturals Deodorant

I have to say, this is my go-to deodorant all the time! I always want to switch things up and try out other brands, but I always seem to go back to this. It comes in the "pink scent" and the "blue scent" (the colour of the tick on the container) and I definitely prefer the pink one, it is so fresh and really keeps me dry through out the day :)

  • Batiste dry shampoo in fresh

I have always loved Batiste dry shampoo, apart from the fact it leaves my hair a bit white sometimes, but what can you do! I know they have a brown one, so maybe I'll try it out :) My favourite is definitely this fresh one; I find the other scents get a little sickening after using them a lot, but this one never seems to annoy my little nose! It smells lovely and "fresh" and clean, perfect for hair that needs a bit of a touch up in between washes!

  • Silvikrin Hairspray

Again, this is my go-to hairspray. You can get the biggest tin of this EVER and it still only being around £2! It comes in tiny tins too, perfect for on the go. It keeps your hair in place and is just all over, a very good and bargain choice for hairspray!

  • Rimmel 25 Hour lasting finish foundation

From my previous posts, you are all bound to know my constant struggles with foundation! I have a lot of acne and very oily skin and I've been through as many foundations as I can think of! If it's the right colour, it doesn't have full coverage. If the colour is awful, the coverage will be amazing. bla bla bla same story all the time! With this foundation - colour 200 is perfect and it is full coverage. PERFECT! Although I don't like how shiny it goes through out the day, I guess I can live with that, all that is needed is a touch up with powder, my next go to and most favourite in this list...

  • Rimmel stay matte powder

Again, my all time favourite powder! It's cheap, if you get it in translucent it's perfect for everyone, and it keeps shiny makeup looking matte! Really good for setting foundation and it is just a great powder, I have been repurchasing for years :)

  • Nivea soft cream

This is another favourite of mine. I've only ever had Avon cream before this, which was tricky to get a hold of cause you have to order it online etc. This is available on the high street for a reasonable price too. It's lovely and soft, not too heavy, and works great as a base under makeup :) It can also be used on any body part and comes in a great big tub like this.

  • Max Factor lash extension mascara

You know how I love my mascara! And the amount that I am dying to try and have been through... well this is my all time favourite! It separates, lengthens and blackens. You can put on just a little for the day and then add more coats for the night, over all a very good mascara :)

  • Models Own Nail polishes

I've really been enjoying these nail polishes recently. I have "nude beige" and "vintage pink". Vintage pink being my favourite so far. They are £5 in the UK. They go on really well which surprised me as their brushes are rather small, and I usually prefer big brushes like the Rimmel Nail polishes. They last a long time, and usually only take 1 coat, depending on the colour. I really like them and their colour selection is awesome :)

I think that's about all I can think of right now! I hope it wasn't too disappointing :) In these kind of posts, I always feel like I am writing way too much, or that you'll get bored half way down the page! So maybe this can be my favourites part 1 and then I'll later maybe to a favourites part 2 , just to not have you constantly scrolling and reading loads all at once!

ANYWAY, thank you for bearing with me! Hope you enjoyed. If you have tried any of these products or recommend some more like them, please comment :)

CIAO LOVELIES!

Happy Days :)

Hey everyone,
How are you all? I've been out and about recently, enjoying myself! Today is a Friday and I was off school due to some teacher holiday thing! So, I thought I'd go into the city and do some much needed Spring shopping! The stuff in the shops right now is really nice guys!
I may as well tell you what I got...

  • I got some Primark brogues; kinda a beige colour. They've got a lovely pattern on them, kind of like the ones in River Island, but only £8 :) I'm unsure on the size, they're a bit big, even though they're size 6, which is my size!
  • I also got a floaty cream patterned top in Primark. Its like a cream floaty vest which has colourful butterflies and fruit and flowers all around the bottom! Also £8, bargain!
  • I got another floaty cream vest in New Look - with a tie around the neck and kind of.. ruffles and buttons all the way down! I'm annoyed with this top  - I've been looking for the exact one but in peach for SO LONG! But no where has my size, and it's been months, so I thought I would just get the cream.. maybe I'll swap it if I find a peach one haha!
  • I bought.... some paracetamol, because I was getting crampies in the city (AWKWARD!) tough love being a woman....
  • I bought some blusher - the usual natural collection one cause I was running low!
  • And lastly... I got a River Island cardigan, £32! BIG SPLURGE FOR ME! But I had vouchers from Christmas ... so I thought I'd treat myself! :)
Anyways, that's about all I did today! Think I'm going to the cinema tonight with my giiiiirls!

Have a great day guys! :)

Quick update: relaxed.

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great day today!
Just stopping by to give you a quick up date. Today was rather good, just the normal day, school, home, studying and all the rest! As you know by now, school isn't so great for me so like always, I had a bit of a "mid life crisis" moment earlier! (thinking about the past.. annoyed how things are at the present etc)
But, I had some motivating words from a close friend and now I feel much better. It seriously is just an on/off thing that has got to stop! haha.
So she told me to stop thinking about that stuff, how better times will come around soon enough and to go sleep it off. Haha :)
So yes, I'm going to be blogging, reading, catching up on all the youtube videos I've subbed to, and just having ME time a lot more. Relaxation time :)

So to bed for me with my book!

nighty nighty all, enjoy tomorrow!

Ciao

What's in my bag?

Hi sugarplums! (the names I call you are getting rather ridiculous)
How are we all? So it's another lovely sunny day but I have loads of work to do! That work happens to be on the laptop... just a click away from BLOGGING.
So, I thought as a break from typing homework, I will do a what's in my bag post :)

(I wish I could take pictures and put them up here, but I seriously cannot find my camera right now. I gave it to my dad to sort out it's memory card holder thing as it was kind of broken, so he must have it... *fingers crossed*)

So I'll just have to write them, finding google pictures (yaaay.......) ;)

OKAY,

1. My Phone

Check out my blingin' phone guys! *tumbleweed*..... haha okay, so it's no blackberry or Iphone, but it does the job. I seriously am attached to this phone. I love it too much, even though the down volume button isn't working....

2. My Ipod

Here is my little ipod, a purchase from ebay that was never regretted! Seriously a very well worth buy. I use it everyday, on the bus, for revising, walking, other trips in the car, studying. All the time. I also love its fresh green colour :)

3. My mini travel makeup bag

So I have my normal big everyday makeup bag that stays in my drawer, but I also have a small zipped bag that fits nicely in my handbag - it keeps any makeup I need for that particular day for topping up my face. I'll just show you what I would keep in it...

the lip gloss that I would be wearing that particular day...

some pressed powder for my shiny t-zone that appears throughout my day (eww!) this stuff is a life saver, and a complete MUST where ever I go.

some blotting sheets, these aren't the particular ones I have... these look way better! I want to go buy these ones now... haha. But yes, blotting sheets for that oily t-zone too!

Some concealer in case any spots have crept out from under my foundation during the day :) Another MUST!

Some kohl eyeliner because I wear it - it needs topping up throughout the day also!

and that's all in the makeup bag! So moving on...

4. hand cream
Some hand cream (not that many tubs haha). My hands get very dry randomly, especially after washing them and stuff, so this is always with me!

5. The book I'm reading

This would be in my bag for longer journeys. This is the book I am reading at the moment, so I keep it in my bag for long journeys on the bus/train or car journeys where I get bored :)

6. mini hairspray/hair things

I can't really find a picture of ALL of the things, so I'll just tell you :) I would bring some hair grips, spare bobbles, mini hairspray and a comb or something - in case of any emergencies!

And I think that is basically everything! Of course, I may add in other things, it all depends on the journey I'm having. For example, I may have my organizer in my bag sometimes or even food from where ever I was - biscuits, snacks, mints etc!

SO THERE IT IS :)

Thankyou for reading,

ciao ciao !

Springspiration

Hey Everyone!

How are we all these lovely sunny days? People go rather crazy in the sunshine here in Ireland. I mean, it's sunny and stuff, and I guess it's pretty warm (about 17 degrees......). I seen this woman though, in town. She was in a sleeveless dress and flipflops. No cardigan no tights or anything! CRAZY! haha, fair enough, we might as well enjoy it because knowing Ireland, it will rain very soon :)

Anyways, I've been inspired by Spring time, hence my very failed attempt at a cool, quirky title, "Spring-spiration"....fail.... :D

So I have been inspired. I want to clear out my wardrobe very soon, and today I did a "spring clean", hoovering and polishing my room. The spring clean needs to continue though, like... into my drawers and stuff (the dreaded part!). Getting rid of clutter is a MUST!

I thought I would just throw this in there, because spring for me is all about the amazing blossom trees :) I love them!

So aside from spring cleaning, I am also in dire need of some spring clothing. I've been kinda rummaging through my winter shaded tops and trying to recreate them into something more spring-ish. I won't lie, I'm kinda failing :(
So that's another thing to my list: buy some lovely light, floaty spring things !

what else has been going on... hmm, the bare minimum.
I hope to do a "favourites" post very soon, or perhaps another review, as I have got some thingsies recently in the makeup department :)

Also.... a wish list could come in use for this Big Spring Shop I am plannning to do!

Thanks for reading :)
and come back soon !

Ciao,

Quick Update (again)

So it has become obvious that I have a lot on my plate at the moment and therefore blogging has been shoved to the back of my mind (SORRY!). I am actually missing it terribly, and am determined to sit down soon and just write a darn good post for you all to read, with all my thoughts and efforts put into it! Because so far, there has been a lot of rushed posts due to loads of stuff going on in LIFE at the moment!
I do apologise my lovely hens,

please keep reading and I would love you to follow :)

I am just sitting in my animal print pyjamas (rawr) on a Friday evening watching Friday Night Dinner, lying on the sofa like a great big slob!

Fridays seriously exhaust me, it's incredible. I am like DRAINED of energy from the week that passed. Madness,

Anyways

I think I am straight for bed once this finishes! It is quite the laugh to watch :)

Thanks for reading!

One by One..............

It has finally come... the day that I finally have this amazing mascara IN MY HOME!
Maybelline's new One by One mascara was a birthday present from a friend (THANKS) and now I can finally test it out and review, OH THE EXCITEMENT!

Here it is in all it's glory! (ISN'T SHE GORGEOUS?!)
Anyway, start the review.

So this mascara promises to
  • coat every single lash 'one by one' to separate and lengthen them, adding volume
aaaand that's basically all I can find as I've thrown out it's packaging (very sorry, that was rather pathetic..)

ANYWAY, I would give this mascara a... 4/5
I think it is very good, it really does separate and lengthen, adding volume, and makes my eyelashes look sky high!

What I do find with it though, which is what I usually find with brand new mascaras (I tend to like mascaras after about 2 weeks or so using them as they become drier) is that it is very very inky. Basically A LOT of product comes out onto the brush because, like I said, it's brand new.
This is good for anyone who loves inky black eyelashes with loads of volume, and don't get me wrong, I like that look to but usually on nights out. Therefore, I find this (right now, being brand new) a litttttle too much for school as its just such a shock when I put it on, (so black)
Also because its so 'inky', I find that when I curl my lashes before and then put the mascara on, it is so heavy that it instantly takes out the curl. So my eyelashes just kind of... go right UP rather than curl back round... if you get me? (haha)

Like I said, I think once I've used this a bit more and have dried it up a little, I will full on love it. Just like the Lancome mascara I got for Christmas and the L'oreal millionising mascara which I now love after it has become less inky!

So over all, a really good mascara but for now, I'll save it for night time - more dramatic looks!

4/5

Enjoy your day and thanks for reading!

Friday 1 April 2011

Excuse me, I am a rambler.

Hi guys, just to let you know, this post will most likely lack grammar and contain a lot of spelling mistakes and messed up punctuation. I just want to type type type my feelings down right now...!
Today is a sad day. Today marks an anniversary of passing away, today marks anger and frustration with the routined life I have to live, and the constant people around me.
I dont mean to sound ungrateful; I am highly happy with my life and love those who truly care about me but it has become obvious that people have lost a lot of care for me, and are simply out to hurt me.
The anniversary marks sadness ofcourse, adding to my quite down in the dumps feeling today. Remembering, because memories are all that I am holding onto right now.

How things change is basically what I am in awe of. How things can change so quickly. 2011 has so far brought me sadness and anger, and yes ofcourse has provided many laughs and excitement, enjoyment and love. But so far, not nothing compared to my idyllic 2010.

Change happens and change "is for the better". In my case, change has destroyed any security I once felt. Change has made me realise the reality of living and almost has me questioning it. The change that has occurred has made me angry, angry at those who told me they would do anything for me and yet have vanished from my company, vanished to others to sail them along, higher up the social hierarchy..

Change right now, is terrible unpleasant. Now, I am just awaiting what other changes 2011 has in store for me...

Apologies and loves, my lovely readers. As usual, I will get over this complicated mood soon enough :)

Thank you and have a wonderful evening with those who truly love you :)
